emotional, and cultural health through four priority areas:

- Youth Development; and
- Cultural Connections.
To date, NB3 Foundation has invested more than $10 million into Native communities, including 127 grants to over 80 Native-led and tribal organizations in over a dozen states. POSITION DESCRIPTION
Summer staff work with NB3FIT Programs: Cross Country, Track, Golf, Soccer, Volleyball, Tennis, Basketball, Summer Programs, and other NB3 Foundation activities. The programs follow a set curriculum with teaching materials. Summer staff report to and assist the Director of NB3FIT and NB3FIT Program Staff with all aspects of program activities including enrollments, set-up, teaching/coaching, take–down and storage of equipment, materials and supplies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with the implementation of curriculum for NB3FIT Programs
- Assist with
- Set up and pick up all teaching materials for all NB3FIT Programming sessions, camps, etc.
- Setting up and taking down tables, tents, sports supplies etc. for all NB3FIT sessions, camps, etc.
- Implementation of NB3FIT curriculum
- Assisting with the implementation of program evaluations such as ensuring program surveys are completed and collected
- Collecting of daily attendance
- Be present at all NB3FIT program meetings and NB3 Foundation staff meetings
GENERAL
- Comply with prescribed policies and procedures of the NB3 Foundation.
- Demonstrate a positive, professional image as a representative of the NB3 Foundation.
- Provide regular communication to appropriate NB3FIT Program Coordinators and other staff members regarding NB3Foundation Program issues and activities.
- Consistently strive to exhibit the goals and objectives of the NB3 Foundation to the donors, program participants, and the public.
- Other duties as assigned.
REPORTING STRUCTURE
This position reports to the Director of NB3FIT.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Experience in sports through playing in youth clubs, high school or at college level.
Knowledge of underserved populations in sport settings, particularly with Native American youth.
Must be 15 years of age or older.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Has been a participant in coaching education clinics.
Background in leadership development through sport and/or sport as an agent for social change in underserved populations.
CPR and First Aid certification.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Effectively coach youth players of varying levels from Native American communities.
- Ability to communicate effectively and teach NB3FIT sports program methods and philosophy.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with people of all backgrounds and ability levels.
- Must be proactive and have the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision to perform assigned tasks.
- Knowledge of Native American culture and pertinent social issues pertaining to Native Americans / Alaska Natives.
- Knowledge of nonprofit organizations and practices.
- Skill in providing instruction to others.
- Skill in using multiple approaches in instruction and assessment.
- Skill in interpersonal and intercultural communication.
- Skill in creative thinking and implementation of ideas.
- Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to communicate ideas and objectives persuasively.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires regular physical activity, including participation in sports, games, and program activities. Summer Intern Coaches should be able to run, jump, and engage in other vigorous movements for extended periods of time. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Due to the nature of work and the goals of the NB3 Foundation, the intern may be required to maintain a minimum physical condition and comply with predetermined fitness standards.
TRAVEL
Travel will be required to program operation locations, trainings, meetings, conferences, presentations, and other events.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is generally performed outdoors with moderate noise levels. Evening and/or weekend work may be required. There is frequent interaction with the public, program participants, and employees. Tight time constraints and multiple demands from several people are common.
