NB3 FOUNDATION

Our Mission

The mission of the NB3 Foundation is to reduce the incidences of childhood obesity and type 2 diabetes and promote the leadership development of Native American youth through evidence-based sports, health and wellness programs.

THE NB3 FOUNDATION PHILOSOPHY AND APPROACH

The NB3 Foundation is committed to building a national movement in Indian Country that supports long-term social change. Our goal is to Turn The Tide of the epidemic of type 2 diabetes and provide opportunities for Native American youth to realize their full potential as future leaders of Indian Country.

The NB3 Foundation directs our investment in building change at the community level from the ground up. The key to Turning The Tide is using tools and strategies that produce measurable and sustainable change in tribal communities. These communities are on the front line of this battle.

The NB3 Foundation is committed to creating and supporting nationally significant and evidence-based models capable of helping to reduce the epidemic of childhood obesity and diabetes and empower the leadership potential of Native youth. Our long-term goal is to partner with tribal communities to scale and replicate model programming throughout Indian Country.

Our strategies to fight for the lives and future of Native American youth:

  • Quality, ongoing, measurable and results oriented youth sports programming
  • Culturally appropriate and community-based nutrition education
  • Access to healthy foods at home and at school
  • Youth and community leadership development
  • Model program development that can be shared throughout Indian Country
  • Advocacy and empowerment to effectively address the problem
  • Grantmaking: Making strategic investments in Native American youth and in quality programming to serve them
