Physical activity
Our bodies are made to move. The amount, intensity and duration of movement will vary based on age. For children, the American Heart Association (AHA) recommends kids 6-17 years old should get at least 60 minutes per day of moderate- to vigorous-intensity physical activity.
It also equally requires an environment that promotes access to safe environments and culturally significant places for our children to grow and play. For Native communities, this includes our connections to land, place, cultural traditions and languages. NB3 Foundation supports Native communities working to build and/or strengthen access and promotion of physical activities and places to play for their children and communities.You can learn more on AHA’s website:
